Monterey Peninsula Junior Open

From November 2nd to the 3rd, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Monterey Peninsula Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys Under 10, and Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Monterey Peninsula Junior Open

Andrew Garcia from Pico Rivera, CA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Garcia brought in scores of 79 and 76 for a combined total of 155 for the weekend. Yusuf, Ahmed from Folsom, CA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 80 and 84 for a combined total of 164. John Snyder from El Dorado Hills, CA finished the top three honors with scores of 82 and 84 for a weekend total of 166.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Monterey Peninsula Junior Open

Justin Le, from El Dorado Hills, CA was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 85 and 81 for a combined total of 166. Charlie Farrell from San Francisco, CA was the runner up with scores of 90 and 91 for a weekend total. Justin C. Lee from Los Altos Hills, CA finished the top three honors with scores of 90 and 91 for a weekend total of 181.

Ernie Els 11-13

Monterey Peninsula Junior Open

Ethan Hong from Los Angeles, CA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Hong brought in scores of 73 and 73 with a combined score of 146. Matthew Robles from Downey, CA was the second-place finisher with scores of 75 and 74 for a total of 149. To round out the top three was Adriel Luis Abaoag from Burbank, CA. Abaoag ended the weekend with scores of 73 and 77 for a total of 150.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Monterey Peninsula Junior Open

Baylee Hammericksen from Medford, OR was the top finisher with impressive scores of 79 Score and 76 for a 155 weekend finish. Brooklyn Millard from Simi Valley, CA took home the runner up title with scores of  81 and 84 for a weekend total of 165.  Jizelle Robledo from La Habra, CA rounded out the top three with scores of 89 and 83 a combined total of 172.

Zachary Luo from Walnut, CA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Luo brought in scores of 77 and 77 with a combined score of 154. Jaden Soong from Burbank, CA was the second-place finisher with scores of 77 and 79 for a total of 156. To round out the top three was Cru Sullivan from Ripon, CA. Sullivan ended the weekend with scores of 81 and 82 for a total of 163.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
