From February 11-12, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Mission Inn Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.
Luke Schaal from Invermere, Canada was the first-place finisher this weekend. Schaal brought in scores of 76 and 77 for a combined total of 153 for the weekend. Rafa Tanjung from Jakarta, Indonesia was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 76 for a combined total of 155. Grant Goslin from Tampa, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 73 and 83 for a weekend total of 156.
Joseph Bueme Jr. from Buffalo, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Bueme Jr. brought in scores of 76 and 81 for a combined total of 157 for the weekend. Leo Oberbeck from Sankt Augustin, Germany was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74 and 85 for a combined total of 159. Forrest Benson from Mahomet, IL and Henry Sobaski from Fairfax, VA tied for third place honors for the weekend. Benson’s 83 and 83 and Sobaski’s 79 and 87 both combined for a total of 166.
Anthony Beteta from Windemere, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Beteta brought in a score of 80 on both days for a combined total of 160 for the weekend. Nico Vasto from Jacksonville, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 80 and 83 for a combined total of 163. Reid Joiner from Ponte Vedra Beach, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 81 and 84 for a weekend total of 165.
You Yang Li from Orlando, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Li brought in scores of 75 and 75 a combined total of 150 for the weekend. Ryan Donaldson from McAlpin, FL, Yujie Liu from Beijing, China, and Victoria Tan from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia all ended the weekend tied as runner-ups. Donaldson’s 76 and 77, Lui’s 74 and 79, and Tan’s 75 and 78 each combined for a weekend total of 153.
Taerin Lee from Jericho, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Lee brought in scores of 85 and 97 for a combined total of 182 for the weekend.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.
Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division.
