From February 22nd to the 23rd, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Mission Inn Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.
Boys 16-18

Cooper Lindberg from Orlando, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Lindberg brought in scores of 74 and 72 for a combined total of 146 for the weekend. Aiden Ash, from Tallahassee, FL and Jimmy Paradise from Tampa, FL shared the second place honor as they both shot a 149 through the two days. Ash shot 79 and a very impressive 2 under 70, while Paradise was more consistent with a 74 and 75.
Boys 14-15

Markus Lam, from Hong Kong, Hong Kong was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 74 and 75 for a combined total of 149. Tyler Vitolo, from Greenwich, Connecticut was the runner up with scores of 84 and 77 for a 161 weekend total. Juleon Habib, from Tarpon Springs, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 81 and 81 for a weekend total of 162.
Boys 11-13

Palmer Haynes, from Orlando, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Haynes brought in scores of 77 and 76 with a combined score of 153. Jizhou Tian from Lake Mary, FL was the second-place finisher with scores of 79 and 81 for a total of 160. To round out the top three was Mingbo Jiang from Hangzhou, China. Jiang ended the weekend with scores of 83 and 80 for a total of 163.
Girls 14-18

Leila Raines from Galena, Ohio was the top finisher with impressive scores of 72 and 72 for a 144 weekend finish. Elan Zhang, from Orlando, FL took home the runner up title with scores of 80 and 78 for a weekend total of 158. Sophia Hong from Windermere, FL rounded out the top three with scores of 80 and 79 a combined total of 159.
Girls U13

Gil Ye Ram, from Seoul, Republic of Korea was the top finisher for the Justin Rose division with scores of 79 and 73. Her combined total for the weekend was 152 strokes. Sammy Chao, from Orlando, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 77 and 76, a combined total of 153 . The third place champion was Lauryn Finley, from Apple Valley, Minnesota. Finley shot an 88 and 78 for a combined 166 for the weekend.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
