For the weekend of Saturday, November 18th 2017 the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour set up shop right outside of Orlando at Mission Inn Golf Course. The HJGT would like to thank the amazing staff members of Mission Inn for their hospitality and ensuring wonderful playing conditions for our field all weekend long.
Matthew Soucinek of Lake City, FL is our boys 16-18 Champion. Soucinek was able to shoot an impressive 74 on back to back days, which was enough for the first place trophy. Maxwell White took home second place in the tournament. The Tampa, FL native produced a two-day score of 156 (80-76), which edged out the competition. In third we have Brennan Hughes of Bedford, NH. Hughes produced a two-day score of 157.
Our boys 14-15 Champion is Carter Dalili. The Vero Beach, FL native shot a two-day score of 154 (73-81). In second place we have Papon Sawatyanon of Bradenton, FL. Sawatyanon shot an impressive 81 and 82 on Saturday and Sunday respectively, which was good enough to take home the second place trophy. Rounding out the division we have Logan Hunter in third place. The Tampa native produced a total score of 168.
One of the three boy’s divisions that competed at this weekend’s tournament consisted of young talented golfers. Cooper Claycomb of Orlando, FL finished with a total score of 159 crowning him the Boys 11-13 champion. Diego Passos of Orlando, FL, another young-talented golfer and runner-up, shot an 80 on Saturday and a 82 on Sunday; finishing with a total score of 162. And in third place, from Longwood, FL, Alexander Hall completed the tournament shooting a solid 168. All these young golfers displayed great sportsmanship and showed a glimpse of their promising futures.
Our girls 14-18 Champion is Mary Ma of Lake Mary, FL. Ma was able to shoot an 80 on Saturday and a 79 on Sunday, giving her the best overall score. In second place we have Annika Church. Church had great back to back days shooting an 86 and an 88 on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Rounding out the division, Cassidy Blair, of Palm City, FL, was able to take home 3rd place.
The Girls U13 was the youngest group to compete during this weekend’s tournament. Coco Li of Winter Garden, FL battled throughout Saturdays and Sundays round. This young golfer displayed her talents by shooting an 80 on Saturday and a 76 on Sunday totaling a score of 156; taking the top spot of the Girls U13 division as this weekend’s champion.
Boys 10 Under
Aaron DeWitt of Winter Haven, FL is the Boys U10 Division champion after finishing Saturday with a 77 and Sunday with a 77; finishing with a significant gap of 4 strokes under second placeholder Connor Krenos. Krenos completed the event with a total of 158. The third-place placeholder, Graden Lomax, finished this weekend’s event with a 167. The players competed at the highest level to secure their sports at the top.
