Minneapolis Junior Shootout

For the weekend of Saturday, September 23, 2017 the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour set up shop right outside of Minneapolis at Dakota Pines Golf Club. The HJGT would like to thank the amazing staff members of Dakota Pines Golf Club for their hospitality and ensuring wonderful playing conditions for our field all weekend long.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Minneapolis Junior Shootout

Brady Arnett of Woodbury, MN is our Boys 16-18 Champion. Arnett was able to shoot an impressive 74 on back to back days, which was enough for the first place trophy. Caleb VanArragon took home second place in the tournament. The Blaine, MN native produced a two-day score of 153 (78-75), which edged out the competition. In third we have a tie between Glavine Schugel of New Ulm, NM and Jay Brooks of Chaska, MN. Each of them produced a two-day score of 154.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Minneapolis Junior Shootout

Our Boys 14-15 Champion is Ihle Majeres. The Elk River, MN native shot a two-day score of 156 (77-79). In second place we have Ben Warian of Stillwater, MN. Warian shot an impressive 78 on Saturday and 79 on Sunday, which proved strong enough to take home the second place trophy.

Minneapolis Junior Shootout

Nate Stevens is our Boys 11-13 Champion. The Northfield, MN native was able to string together two magnificent performances in an effort that produced the top finish. With a 75 on Saturday and a 75 on Sunday, Stevens was able to finish with the big trophy. Zachary Stennes, of Minnetonka, MN, was able to string together two impressive days of his own with scores of 82 and 95 on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Those scores were enough to propel him into second place. Rounding out the division, we have Justin Yang in third place. The Merrill, WI native shot a combined score of 185 over the two days.

Our girls 14-18 Champion is Aayushi Sarkar of Woodbury, MN. Sarkar was able to shoot a consistent 79 on both days, giving her the best overall score. In second place we have Ann Jensen. Jensen had great back to back days 89 and a 90 on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Rounding out the division, Catherine Monty was able to take home 3rd place with an overall score of 182 (94-88).

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
