Midwest Regional Invitational at TPC Deere Run

On Wednesday, July 25 – Thursday, July 26, 2018, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted Midwest Regional Invitational at TPC Deere Run. The two-day, thirty-six-hole course held in Silvis, Illinois consisted of players from all six of our divisions including the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division, Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division, Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division, Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division, and the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division.

Midwest Regional Invitational at TPC Deere Run

Jacob Connors of Louisville, Kentucky pulled off the win in a playoff against now second-place finisher Mark Noonan of Vernon Hills, Illinois after completing the two days with 149 strokes resulting in their tying +7 finish Connors led his playing field with the lowest Par-3 average while both tied for the lowest scoring average of 74.5. Third-place finisher was Ian Roach of Hennepin, Illinois who made 152 strokes for a +10 finish.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Midwest Regional Invitational at TPC Deere Run

The competition was high in the Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, but it was Ty Sylla of Liberty Township, Ohio that came out on top after the playoff. As a result, Jack Roemer of Bettendorf, Iowa claimed the second-place spot. Both Sylla and Roemer led their playing field with the lowest scoring average of 75.5.  Noah Kirsch of Lancaster, Wisconsin made 156 strokes for a +14 finish through the thirty-six holes.

Ernie Els 11-13

Midwest Regional Invitational at TPC Deere Run

Luke Powell of Laguna Niguel, California was victorious in the Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division as he completed the two days at +9. He led his playing field with the most birdies (4), the lowest Par-3 average (3), and the lowest scoring average (75.5). Second-place finisher was Gavin Girard of East Setaucket, New York who made 155 strokes for a +13 finish. As for third-place, there was a two-way tie between Henry Reiland (Chicago, IL) and Troy Nason (Northbrook, IL) as they both completed the thirty-six holes at +20.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Midwest Regional Invitational at TPC Deere Run

The Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 tournament champion was Allison Enchelmayer of Bloomington, Illinois who completed the tournament at +16. She led her playing field with the lowest Par-3 average (3.1) and the lowest scoring average (79). Reese Clark of Geneva, Illinois made 175 strokes to total a finish of +33. Third-place finisher was Ananda Zhai of Woodbury, Minnesota whose 178 strokes resulted in a +36 total.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Midwest Regional Invitational at TPC Deere Run

Emily Knox of Discovery Bay, California secured the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division’s first-place trophy with her +38 finish. She led her playing field with the lowest Par-3 average (4) and the lowest scoring average (90). This is Emily’s first victory on tour, following her previous three Top-15 finishes this year.

Boys 10 Under

Midwest Regional Invitational at TPC Deere Run

Huntley, Illinois’ Liam Lodding walked away with the trophy in the Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division after his +44 finish. He led his playing field with the most birdies (2), the lowest Par 3 average (4), and the lowest scoring average (93). This is Liam’s fourth 1st place victory this year and eleventh Top-10 finish of the season.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
