Midwest Fall Junior Open

From September 18-19, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Midwest Fall Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division and Girls Under 13 Division.

Midwest Fall Junior Open

Mason Schmidtke from Sheboygan, WI was the first-place finisher this weekend. Schmidtke brought in scores of 76 and 81 for a combined 157. Daniel Gabrio from Hugo, MN was this weekend’s runner-up with scores of 80 and 82 for a total of 162. Logan Beniek from Tonka Bay, MN and Cullen Ryan from Lakeville, MN tied for this weekend’s top three honors. Beniek brought in scores of 80 and 84 for a combined total of 164. Ryan finished the weekend with scores of 82 and 82 for a total of 164.

Midwest Fall Junior Open

Brayden Larson from Faribault, MN was the first-place finisher this weekend. Larson brought in scores of 81 and 77 for a combined total of 158 for the weekend. David Fong III from Bloomington, MN was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 87 for a combined total of 166. Andrew Ballou from Victoria, MN finished the top three honors with scores of 85 and 83 for a weekend total of 168.

Boys 11-13

Midwest Fall Junior Open

Zachary Johnson from Maple Grove, MN was the first-place finisher this weekend. Johnson brought in scores of 79 and 79 for a weekend total of 158. Brandon Yabandith from St. Michael, MN was this weekend’s runner up. Yabandith finished with scores of 84 and 86 for a total of 170. Archimedes Xiong from River Falls, WI finished with top three honors with scores of 96 and 90 for a total of 186.

Kate Burke from Minneapolis, MN was the first-place finisher this weekend. Burke brought in scores of 81 and 78 for a weekend total of 159. Olivia Salonek from Roseville, MN was the runner up this weekend with scores of 78 and 83 for a combined total of 161. Kelsi Mauzy from Lakeville, MN finished the top three honors with scores of 83 and 89 for a combined weekend total of 172.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
