From June 27-28, 2020, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Mid Atlantic Summer Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.
Boys 16-18

Jack Deosaran from Ashton, MD was the first-place finisher this weekend. Deosaran brought in scores of 77 and 73 for a combined total of 150 for the weekend. Drew Carlin from Ashburn, VA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 73 for a combined total of 152. Owen Porter from Bethesda, MD finished the top three honors with scores of 77 and 76 for a weekend total of 153.
Boys 14-15

Bennett Espenshade from Baltimore, MD was the first-place finisher this weekend. Espenshade brought in scores of 75 and 79 for a combined total of 154 for the weekend. Benjamin Chamberlin from Germantown, MD was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 78 and 77 for a combined total of 155. Vaughn McMeans from Leesburg, VA finished the top three honors with scores of 81 and 87 for a weekend total of 168.
Boys 11-13

Connor Wood from Mclean, VA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Wood brought in scores of 74 and 85 for a combined total of 159 for the weekend. Daniel Rowe from Alexandria, VA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 84 and 86 for a combined total of 170.
Girls 14-18

Christina Carroll from Wilmington, DE was the first-place finisher this weekend. Carroll brought in scores of 73 and 74 for a combined total of 147 for the weekend. Rebecca Schiffman from Chevy Chase was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 77 for a combined total of 156. Christina Cupelli from Fairfax, VA finished the top three honors with scores of 77 and 80 for a weekend total of 157.
Girls U13

Leela Kenwood from Bethesada, MD was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kenwood brought in scores of 89 and 99 for a combined total of 188 for the weekend. Madison Rizzo from Leesburg, VA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 100 and 101 for a combined total of 201.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
