From Saturday June 29th through Sunday June 30th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held Maryland Summer Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys 10 and Under and Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.
Tiger Woods Boys 16-18
Jackson Gessaman of Leesburg, VA and Zach Charapp of Pikesville, MD tied for the lead with weekend totals of 145 shots and final rounds of 71. Jackson Gessaman won on the first playoff hole against his competitor to take the win for the weekend. Rounding up our top-three was Chris Dalessandro of Waretown, NJ with a weekend total of 148 strokes and claim solo third-place honors.
Will Smith Boys 14-15
Jack Pogorelc of Bethesda, MD was able to seal his victory with rounds of 76 and 72 over the weekend. Pogorelc was able to finish with a weekend total of 148 shots and win by a two shot margin. John Keba of Emmaus, PA claimed runner-up honors with a weekend day total of 150 shots, just 2 shy of the winner for the division. Rounding up the top three Luke Lombardo of Severna Park, MD with a weekend total of 151 strokes.
Ernie Els 11-13
Will Butkiewicz of Chevy Chase, MD was our lone competitor for the division with a weekend total of 168 shots. Butkiewicz shot consistent rounds over the weekend to claim victory on Sunday.
Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18
Christina Carroll of Wilmington, DE shot a weekend total of 149 shots and a first round of 70 to claim victory. Carroll was able to win by a four-shot margin over her closest competitor. Following her was Abigail Stetz of Wesley Chapel, FL with a weekend total of153 shots to finish with solo runner-up honors. And rounding up our top-three was Kyleen McCance of Hanover Township, PA with a weekend total of 157 shots and take solo third-place honors.

Boys 10 Under
Samuel Han of Ashburn, VA shot rounds of 86 and 76 for the weekend to claim victory in the division. Han was our lone competitor, shooting 162 strokes total to win.
