Maryland Spring Junior Open

On Saturday May 5 – Sunday May 6, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held Maryland Spring Junior Open at Worthington Manor Golf Club in Urbana, Maryland. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Boys Under 10 Division, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18 and the Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Maryland Spring Junior Open

Michael Brennan of Leesburg, Virginia finished in first place in the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18. Michael finished with a two-day total score of 141(73-68). Elliot Haas of Dickerson, Maryland came in second place with a two-day total score of 148(75-73). Karsen Rush of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania finished in third place with a two-day total score of 151(74-77).

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Maryland Spring Junior Open

In the Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Christopher Lee of Ijamsville, Maryland finished in first place with a two-day total score of 159(78-81). Corey Minkoff of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Devin Smith of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, Luke Thompson of Palmyra, Pennsylvania tied for second place with a two-day total score of 162.

Ernie Els 11-13

Maryland Spring Junior Open

In the Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Alexander Maloy of Potomac, Maryland finished with a two-day total score of 149 before taking home the prize in the playoff. Rohan Singh of Ashburn, Virginia and Chase Nevins of Great Falls, Virginia tied for second place with a two-day total score of 149.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Skylar Sload of Ashburn, Virginia finished in first place in the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18. Skylar finished with a two-day total score of 151(70-81). Tigress Suh of Herndon, Virginia came in second place with a two-day total score of 158(79-79). Rebecca Schiffman of Chevy Chase, Maryland finished in third place with a two-day total score of 165(80-85).

In the Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13, Amanda Phillips of New York, New York finished with a two-day total score of 169(85-84). Amelie Phung of Forest Hills, New York came in second place with a two-day total score of 190(94-96). Kyleen McCance of Hanover Township finished in third place with a two-day total score of 197(95-102).

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
