On Saturday, June 30 – Sunday, July 1, 2018, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Major Championship at Trophy Club in Lebanon, Indiana. The two-day, thirty-six-hole tournament that took place on The Trophy Club consisted of players from all six of our divisions, including the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division, Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division, Boys U10 Division, Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division, and the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division.
Boys 16-18

Brooks Gineris of McDonough, Georgia captured the title in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division after finishing the two-day tournament at +10. He led his playing field with the lowest scoring average (77) and the most birdies (5). Second-place finisher, Jace Arko, of Cornelius, North Carolina, had 158 strokes for a +14 finish. Avery Arasin of Marietta, Georgia shot 159 strokes for a +15 finish through the thirty-six holes.
Boys 14-15

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, it was Grant Norman of Fort Wayne, Indiana who walked away the champion as he finished +2 on the weekend. He led his playing field with the lowest scoring average (73), the lowest Par 3 average (3), the most birdies (7), and the longest birdie or better streak (3). Tommy Philpot of St. John, Indiana placed second as he shot 159 strokes for a +15 finish. Third-place finisher was Grant Puckett of Clay who finished +20 through the thirty-six holes
Boys 11-13

Happy Gilmore of Bloomfield, Indiana captured the victory in the Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division after finishing at +6 on the weekend. He led his playing field with the lowest scoring average (75), the lowest Par 3 average (3), the most birdies (7), and the longest birdie or better streak (2). Second-place finisher Gavin Girard of East Setauket, New York shot 159 strokes for a +15 finish. Landen Howard of Richmond, Kentucky finished third after shooting 165 strokes through the thirty-six holes to end the tournament at +21.
Girls 14-18

Madison Logan of Brasstown, North Carolina took home the first-place trophy in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division after her +22 finish through the two days. She made 2 birdies and led her playing field with the lowest scoring average (83) and the longest birdie or better streak (2). Samantha Kissell of North Manchester, Indiana placed second as her 210 strokes helped her finish at +66 at the end of the thirty-six holes. Both Logan and Kissell had a low Par 3 scoring average of 3.9.
Girls U13

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division, Trinity Beth of Calvert City, Kentucky captured the victory at the end of the two-day tournament as she finished +10. She made two birdies and led her playing field with the lowest scoring average of 77. Second-place finisher, Macie Brown of Mount Washington, Kentucky, shot 162 strokes through the thirty-six holes to finish at +18. Mia Hammond of Crooksville, Ohio finished third after shooting 163 strokes to complete the weekend at +19.
Boys 10 Under

In the Boys U10 Division, it was Sam Carraher of Crown Point, Indiana who was victorious as he finished at +25. He made 1 birdie and led his playing field with the lowest scoring average (84.5) and the lowest Par 3 average (3.4). Second-place finisher was Elijah Lemmon of McCordsville, Indiana who shot 173 strokes for a +29 finish on the weekend. Macaulay Myers of Whitestown placed third after his 176 strokes through the thirty-six holes that resulted in a +32 finish.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
