On Saturday September 22 – Sunday September 23, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Major Championship at TPC of Tampa Bay in Lutz, FL. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson Dechambeau Division U10, Justin Rose Division Girls U13 and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.
Boys 16-18

Matthew Soucinek of Lake City, FL captured the first-place finish at the Major Championship at TPC Tampa Bay in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 146 (72-74). With solid play both days, Soucinek was able to hold off James Ballato with a two day total of 148. Rounding out the division is Michael Hauer carting around (76-74) 150 total.
Boys 14-15

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division Kyo Morishita took home first place this weekend in shooting a 2-day total of 143. Solid play in the second round allowed Morishita to take victory over Owen Mullen and Alex Song tied for second with a two day total of 147.
Boys 11-13

In the Ernie Els Boys 11-13 division Aaron Dewitt took home first place this weekend by shooting a 2-day total of 147. Solid play in the second round allowed Dewitt to take victory over Itai Cohen and Frank Kennedy tied for second with a two day total of 152.
Girls 14-18

Hanana Kawada ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 145 (74-71). With consistent rounds, Kawada was able to hold off Nicole Felce by 8 shots and claiming 2nd place. Rounding out the division was Toa Yokoyama and Julia McLaughlin who shot a 2-day total of 156 to claim a tie for 3rd place.
Girls U13

Hayli Snaer of Venice,FL captured the first-place finish at the Major Championship at TPC Tampa Bay in the Justin Rose U13 division with a 2-day total of 160 (78-82). With solid play both days, Snaer was able to hold off Arianna Leon with a two day total of 161. Rounding out the division is Chloe Chang carting around (87-86) 173 total
Boys 10 Under

Lion Ziao Liu did not disappoint in the Bryson Dechambeau Boys U10 division as he carded rounds of 81-78 to win over Graden Lomax of Lutz, FL who carded rounds of 85-79 to claim 2nd place. Rounding out the division was Jeremiah Smith with a two day total of 183.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
