Major Championship at Skybrook

On Saturday, October 14 the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour was in Huntersville, NC to host the Major Championship at the beautiful Skybrook Golf Course. The players battled through a very hilly course, but it wasn’t too much to keep us all from having a good time! The HJGT would like to thank the amazing staff of the Skybrook Golf Course for their hospitality and ensuring excellent conditions for the field of play.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Major Championship at Skybrook

Micah Knisley of Jefferson City, TN is the Boys 16-18 champion. Knisley solidified the victory in his division by carding a 70 on both Saturday and Sunday with a two-day total of 140. Addison Beam of Cherryville, NC finished in 2nd with a two-day total of 146 (72-74).  3rd place was given to Jack Towarnicky who carded a two-day total of 147 (74-73). The players had a great time competing and their close scores made it even more exciting.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Major Championship at Skybrook

TJ Moyer of Cornelius, NC  is the Boys 14-15 champion.After a strong 75 on Saturday, Moyer stayed fairly consistent with a 76 on Sunday for a two-day total of 151. Nicholas Song of Waxhaw, NC came in 2nd with a two-day total of 158 (78-80). Bryce Wittmer of Tega Cay, SC finished in 3rd place with a two-day total of 159 (77-82). Similar to the Boys 16-18 division, the boys in this division were neck and neck throughout the competition.

Ernie Els 11-13

Major Championship at Skybrook

Noah Kirsch of DeWitt, IA is the champion of the Boys 11-13 division.Kirsch only got better as the days went on with a 78 on Saturday and a 73 on Sunday for a 151 two-day total to claim the title. Drew Coppin came in 2nd after finishing with a two-day total of 158 (78-80). 3rd was awarded to Trenton Cade who totaled 159 (76-83). This division had great competition and each player can walk away proud of their effort.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Major Championship at Skybrook

Chloe Pittman of Davidson, NC is the Girls 14-18 champion. Pittman scored a 93 on Saturday, and improved with a 76 on Sunday for a two-day total of 169. Finishing in 2nd from Cornelius, NC was Mirabella Calabrase who posted rounds of 96 and 79 to finish with a total of 175. Both girls finished strong and enjoyed their time competing together.

Major Championship at Skybrook

Kirstyn Page is the Girls 13 and under champion. Page of King, NC emerged victorious after posting a two-day total of 182 (93-89).Page played along with the Girls 14-18 division and enjoyed the competition.

Boys 10 Under

Major Championship at Skybrook

Chandler Witt, of Noblesville, IN  took home the 1st place trophy for the Boys under 10 division. Witt ended Saturday with a score of 98 and a Sunday score of 102 for a two-day total of 200. Chandler played alongside the boys 11-13 division and enjoyed the company.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
