Major Championship at Myrtle Beach National

From September 21st to the 22nd, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Major Championship at Myrtle Beach National. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys Under 10,  Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Major Championship at Myrtle Beach National

Rico Rudolf from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina was the first-place finisher this weekend. Rudolf brought in scores of 66 and 73 for a combined total of 139 for the weekend. Oliver Rotermund from Charleston, South Carolina was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 69 and 73 for a combined total of 142. Oliver Paddon and Andrew Propes were the third place finishers with weekend scores of 69 and 75 for a total of 144 and 71 and 73 for a weekend total of 144 strokes.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Major Championship at Myrtle Beach National

Trent Cade from Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 72 and 69 for a combined total of 141. Campbell Skelly and Ryan Porterfield both from Charleston, South Carolina were the runner ups with scores of 76 and 75 for a 151 and 74 and 77 for a weekend total of 151. Max Rotermund from Charleston, South Carolina finished the top three honors with scores of 74 and 78 for a weekend total of 152.

Ernie Els 11-13

Major Championship at Myrtle Beach National

OT Mitchell from Fort Mill, South Carolian was the first-place finisher this weekend. Mitchell brought in scores of 82 and 75 with a combined score of 157. Deaton Reed from Lancaster, South Carolina was the second-place finisher with scores of 80 and 77 for a total of 157. To round out the top three was Chrispope Abhiteachepan from Bangkok, Thailand. Abhiteachapan ended the weekend with scores of 84 and 83 for a total of 167.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Major Championship at Myrtle Beach National

Kennedy Arnette from Cumming, Georgia was the top finisher with impressive scores of 79 and 76 for a 155 stroke weekend finish. Svarnika Bommakanti from Tampa, Florida took home the runner up title with scores of 81 and 76 for a weekend total of 157. Eden Richmond from Princeton, New Jersey rounded out the top three with scores of 86 and 78 for a combined total of 164.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Major Championship at Myrtle Beach National

Karsyn Roberts from Pikeville, North Carolina was the top finisher with impressive scores of 71 and 72 for a 143 stroke weekend finish. Ella June Hannant from Pikeville, North Carolina took home the runner up title with scores of 76 and 77 for a weekend total of 152. Madison Messimer from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina rounded out the top three with scores of 80 and 78 for a combined total of 158.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
