On Saturday September 22 – Sunday September 23, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Major Championship at Myrtle Beach National in Myrtle Beach, SC. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson Dechambeau Division U10, Justin Rose Division Girls U13 and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.
Boys 16-18

Tommy Lamb captured the first-place finish at the Major Championship at Myrtle Beach National in the Tiger Woods Boys16-18 division with a 2-day total of 140 (68-72). With solid play both days, Lamb was able to hold off Angel Guerra, Nic Whittaker, TJ Moyer, and Grant Griswold by only 3 shots. All four of these athletes finished with an astonishing tie with a 2-day total of 143.
Boys 14-15

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division Cameron Biddle of Aiken, SC took home first place this weekend by shooting a 2-day total of 151. Solid play in the second round allowed Biddle to take victory over Thomas Davis who finished second with a 2-day total of 152. Rounding out the division was Hayden Mincey of Mount Pleasant, SC who finished 2 shots behind Davis to claim a 3rd place finish.
Boys 11-13

Chuck Stanley did not disappoint in the Ernie Els Boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 74-72 to win over Luke Walmet who carded rounds of 72-75 to claim 2nd place. Dallas Johnson of Mount Pleasant, SC who shot a 2-day total of 150 (75-75) to take a solo 3rd place finish.
Girls 14-18

Susana Olivares ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 145 (73-72). With consistent rounds, Olivares was able to hold off Romina Villanueva by 5 shots. Rounding out the division was Paola Reimundi who shot a 2-day total of 152 to claim a 3rd place finish.
Girls U13

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 division Gianna Clemente of Warren,OH took home the victory by firing a 2-day total of 140. Mia Hornberger followed behind by shooting a 2-day total of 153 to take a solo 2nd finish. Rounding out the division was a tie between Madison Messimer, Gracie Song, and Karsyn Roberts all of whom finished with a 2-day total of 161.
Boys 10 Under

In the Bryson Dechambeau U10 division Cash Scerri of Wrightsville Beach, NC took home thevictory with firing a 2-day total of 166. Leo Huddleston followed behind in 2nd place by shooting a 2-day total of 169.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
