Major Championship at Callaway Gardens

From October 5th and 6th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Major Championship at Callaway Gardens. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of four divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys Under 10, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Major Championship at Callaway Gardens

Bryan Kim from Evans, Georgia was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kim brought in scores of 75 and 74 for a combined total of 149 for the weekend. Parker Shelnutt from Newnan, Georgia was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 76 and 77 for a combined total of 153. Hagen Marion from Zebulon, Georgia finished the top three honors with scores of 76 and 78 for a weekend total of 154.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Major Championship at Callaway Gardens

Blake Henriques, from Waleska, Georgia  was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 70 and 74 for a combined total of 144. Colin Edwards from Atlanta, Georgia was the runner up with scores of 71 and 74 for a 145 weekend total. Bo Carpenter from Tifton, Georgia finished the top three honors with scores of 79 and 69 for a weekend total of 148.

Ernie Els 11-13

Major Championship at Callaway Gardens

Jackson Hope from Dallas, Georgia was the first-place finisher this weekend. Hope brought in scores of 83 and 88 with a combined score of 171. Chris Stevens from Auburn, Alabama was the second-place finisher with scores of 97 and 88 for a total of 185. To round out the top three was Kaman Rouse from Homewood, Alabama. Rouse ended the weekend with scores of 103 and 91 for a total of 194.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Major Championship at Callaway Gardens

Sanders Hinds from Midland, Georgia was the top finisher with impressive scores of 77 and 73 for a 150 weekend finish. Christina Surcey from Cartersville, Georgia took home the runner up title with scores of 79 and 76 for a weekend total of 155.  Grace Engel from Huntsville, Alabama rounded out the top three with scores of 81 and 82 for a combined total of 163.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Major Championship at Callaway Gardens

Alissa Pressley from Flowery Branch, Georgia was the top finisher for the Justin Rose division with scores of 78 and 84. Her combined total for the weekend was 162 strokes. Georgia Bosart from Clarkston, Georgia was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 87 and 83, a combined total of 170 strokes.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
