Major Championship at Bryan Park

On Saturday August 25 – Sunday August 26, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Major Championship at BryanPark at Bryan Park Golf Course in Greensboro, NC. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15,Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division U10, Justin RoseDivision Girls U13 and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Major Championship at Bryan Park

Sawyer Spoone of Russellville, TN captured a dramatic first-place finish at the Major Championship in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 155. Spoone was able to separate himself from the competition with firing a closing round of 74 to defeat Will Spivey of Douglas, GA and Thomas Miller from Knoxville, TN by 1shot.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Major Championship at Bryan Park

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15division Collin Adams of Charlotte took home first place honors this weekend in shooting a 2-day total of 150 (73-77). Adams defeated Cole Chambers of Charlotte,NC who finished 3 shots back to take solo 2nd place. Rounding out the division was Will Conway of Charlotte, NC who shot back to back 81’s to claim the 3rd place finish.

Ernie Els 11-13

Major Championship at Bryan Park

Owen Bright from Roanoke, VA didnot disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 74-78 to win in his division over Samanyu Bedi who rounded out the division with a solo 2nd place finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Major Championship at Bryan Park

Ivy Foran of Bristol, TN ended up with the Major Championship honors in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a 36-hole total of 170. Foran was able to hold off Gracie Cannon of Yorktown who finished in solo 2nd place in carding a 2-day total of 181.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Major Championship at Bryan Park

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 division Gianna Clemente took home the victory with firing a 2-day total of 147. Clemente fired a closing round 71 to defeat Vilda Westh-Blanc who fired a final round 76 to take a solo 2nd finish. Rounding out the Justin Rose division was Kirstyn Page of King, NC who claimed the 3rd place finish.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
