Long Island Junior Open

From May 1-2, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Long Island Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division,  Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Uner 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Long Island Junior Open

Alexander Weller from Cortlandt Manor, NY was the first place finisher for the weekend. Weller brought in scores of 81 and 77 for a weekend total of 158. Will Campbell from Yarmouth, MA was the runner up for the weekend. Campbell finished with scors of 85 and 75 for a weekend total of 160. Michael McConie from Huntington, NY rounded out the top three honors for the weekend. McConie finished with scores of 82 and 79 for a weekend total of 161.

Long Island Junior Open

YiWen Wang from Scarsdale, NY was the first place finisher for the weekend. Wang brought in scores of 78 and 79 for a weekend total of 157. Will Gregware from West Hartford, CT was the runner up for the weekend. Gregware finished with scores of 81 and 79 for a weekend total of 160. Michael Litke from Gastonbury, CT rounded out the top three honors with scores of 78 and 85, a weekend total of 163.

Jack Chung from Greenwich, CT was the first place finisher for the weekend. Chung finished with scores of 77 and 68 for a weekend total of 145. Zachary Berger from Remsenburg, NY was the runner up for the weekend. Berger brought in scores of 84 and 81 for a weekend total of 165. Colby Baran from Wading River, NY rounded out the top three honors for the weekend. Baran finished with scores of 82 and 85 for a weekend total of 167.

Sofia Nogalo from Irvington, NY was the first place finisher for the weekend. Nogalo brought in scores of 75 and 74 for a weekend total of 149. Ava La Belle from Webster, NY was the runner up for the weekend. La Belle finished with scores of 88 and 84 for a weekend total of 172. Sofia Ghorbel from New Canaan, CT rounded out the top three honors for the weekend. Ghorbel finished with scores of 85 and 88 for a weekend total of 173.

Ava Estrella from Brookville, NY was the first place finisher for the weekend. Estrella brought in scores of 89 and 85 for a weekend total of 174. Jennifer Wang from New York, NY was the runner up for the weekend. Wang brought in scores of 89 and 86 for a weekend total of 175. Elie Poremba from Southampton, NY rounded out the top three honors with scores of 89 and 88 for a weekend total of 177.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
