Legacy on Lanier Junior Open

On Saturday October 20 – Sunday October 21, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Legascy on Lanier Junior Open in Lake Lanier Islands, GA. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Legacy on Lanier Junior Open

William Wethington captured the first-place finish at the Legacy on Lanier Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 151 (79-72). With solid play both days, Wethington was able to hold off Nicholas Song and Pierce Garland as they both finished with a 154 total tying for second place.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Legacy on Lanier Junior Open

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division, Rob Ferris scored a two-day total of 150 for a first place victory. Solid play in the second round allowed Ferris to hold his winning spot over Conor McCarthy who finished with a total of 154. Rounding out the division was Ryan Grizzard with a two day total of 174 and a 3rd place finish.

Ernie Els 11-13

Legacy on Lanier Junior Open

Owen Baginski did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 82-84 to win in his division over Parth Kumar who carded rounds of 84-89 to claim 2nd place. Behind Kumar was Finley Burke who shot a 2-day total of 174 (87-87) to take a solo 3rd place finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Legacy on Lanier Junior Open

Michelle Cao ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 155 (79-76). With consistent rounds, Cao was able to hold off Tori Owens by 2 shots and claiming 2nd place. Rounding out the division was Madeline Ananthasane who shot a 2-day total of 159 to claim the 3rd place finish.

Legacy on Lanier Junior Open

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 division, Kyra Dube took home a solo first place victory with a two day total of 162. Taking second place was Gracie Song who had a two-day total of 180 (90-90). Rounding out the division was Zoe Duval with a total of 192 taking a solo third place finish

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
