From January 14-15, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Lake Buena Vista Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.
Boys 16-18

Enrique Mediato from Marbella, Spain was the first-place finisher this weekend. Mediato brought in scores of 75 and 75 for a combined total of 150 for the weekend. Lucas Smith from Hamilton, Canada was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74 and 76 for a combined total of 150. Mediato defeated Smith in a playoff. Billy Boroughs from Chattanooga, TN finished the top three honors with scores of 76 and 75 for a weekend total of 151.
Boys 14-15

Taeyoung Lim from Suwon, Republic of Korea was the first-place finisher this weekend. Lim brought in scores of 72 and 74 for a combined total of 146 for the weekend. Seunghwa Baek from Cheonan-si, Republic of Korea was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74 and 73 for a combined total of 147. William Lisle from Tai Tam, Hong Kong finished the top three honors with scores of 78 and 74 for a weekend total of 152.
Boys 11-13

TaeHwee Kim from Busan, Republic of Korea was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kim brought in scores of 75 and 75 for a combined total of 150 for the weekend. Patrick Paquette from Cincinnati, OH was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 75 and 76 for a combined total of 151. YuChan Oh from Changwon, Republic of Korea finished the top three honors with scores of 82 and 70 for a weekend total of 152.
Girls 14-18

Yaxuan Zheng from ShenZhen, China was the first-place finisher this weekend. Zheng brought in scores of 80 and 81 for a combined total of 161 for the weekend. Alyssa Zhang from Allison Park, PA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 87 and 78 for a combined total of 165. Brianna Bassett from McDonough, GA the top three honors with scores of 88 and 78 for a weekend total of 166.
Girls U13

Willa Borough from Lexington, KY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Borough brought in scores of 80 and 81 for a combined total of 161 for the weekend. Allyson Benson from Lake Mary, FL and Sohee Shim from Yangsan, Republic of Korea both ended the weekend as runner-ups. Benson and Shim both scored an 82 and 84 to tie for combined total of 166. Taerin Lee of Jericho, NY finished the top three honors with scores of 97 and 94 for a weekend total of 202.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.
Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division.
