Knoxville Spring Junior Open

From April 10-11, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Knoxville Spring Junior Open . The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of four divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, and Girls 14-18 Division.

Boys 16-18

Knoxville Spring Junior Open

David Schneider Jerez from Mijas Costa, Málaga, Spain was the first place finisher for the weekend Schneider Jerez brought in scores of 69 and 76 for a weekend total of 145. Nic Ravnborg from Dandridge, TN was the runner up for the weekend. Ravnborg finished with scores of 77 and 80 for a 157 weekend total. Tyler Robinson from Pikeville, KY rounded out the top three honors for the weekend. Robinson brought in scores of 82 and 77 for a weekend total of 159.

Jake Sheffield from Lenoir City, TN was the first place finisher for the weekend. Sheffield finished with scores of 77 and 82 for a weekend total of 159. Alexander Barton from Lenoir City, TN was the runner up for the weekend. Barton finished with scores of 83 and 88 for a weekend total of 171. Bryce Harmon from Knoxville, TN rounded out the top three honors for the weekend. Harmon finished with scores of 87 and 85 for a weekend total of 172.

Wyatt Merkins from Georgetown, KY was the first place finisher for the weekend. Merkins finished with scores of 80 and 89 for a weekend total of 169. Merritt Mathesius from Bristol, VA was the runner up for the weekend. Mathesius brought in scores of 91 and 94 for a weekend total of 185. Jasper Stepp from Calhoun, GA rounded out the top three honoros. Stepp finished with scores of 92 and 100 for a weekend finish of 192.

Isabella Wiley from Bagdad, KY was the first place finisher for the weekend. Wiley finished with scores of 75 and 81 for a weekend total of 156. Kennedy Arnette from Cumming, GA and Dakota Tallent from Las Vegas, NV tied for the runner up honors. Arnette brought in scores of 81 and 83 for a weekend total of 164. Tallent finished with scores of 75 and 89 for a weekend total of 164.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
