Knoxville Jr. Open

On Saturday April 28- Sunday April 29, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Knoxville Junior Open at Gettysvue Polo Golf & Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee.  The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Boys Under 10 Division, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18 and the Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Knoxville Jr. Open

Ian Johnston of Swisher, Iowa finished in first place in the  Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18. Ian finished with a two-day total score of 151(72-79). Michael Ray of Knoxville, Tennessee came in second place with a two-day total score of 152(78-74). Antonio Farinella of Knoxville, Tennessee finished in third place with a two-day total score of 154(79-75).

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Knoxville Jr. Open

In the Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, John Meadows of Knoxville, Tennessee finished in first place with a two-day total score of 159(82-77). Wyatt Brackett of Dalton, Georgia came in second place with a two-day total score of 160(76-84). Conner Brown of Shelbyville, Tennessee and Carson Harris of Cartersville, Georgia tied for third place with a two-day total score of 162.

Ernie Els 11-13

Harrison Thompson of Knoxville, Tennessee finished in first place in the Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Harrison finished with a two-day total score of 168(85-83). Sebastian Costales of Knoxville, Tennessee came in second place with a two-day total score of 187(95-92). Parker Durkin of Gainesville , Georgia finished in third place with a two-day total score of 193(93-100).

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Faith Martin of Rockfield , Kentucky finished in first place in the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18 . Faith finished with a two-day total score of 149(77-72). McKenzie Mages of Marietta, Georgia came in second place with a two-day total score of 162(82-80). Ashley Simms of Maryville, Tennessee finished in third place with a two-day total score of 166(84-82).

In the Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13, Trinity Beth of Calvert City, Kentucky finished in first place with a two-day total score of 166(85-81). Vilda Westh-Blanc of Bell Buckle, Tennessee came in second place with a two-day total score of 170(90-80). Maya Hira of Knoxville, Tennessee finished in third place with a two-day total score of 208(99-109).

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
