Kingsmill Junior Open

From June 4th-5th. 2022 the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Kingsmill Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Kingsmill Junior Open

Matthew Normand from Lumberton, New Jersey was the first-place finisher this weekend. Normand brought in scores of 76 and 75 for a combined total of 153 for the weekend. Caden Sherman from Glen Allen, Virginia was the runner-up for this weekend with scores of 76 and 77 for a combined total of 153. Rua Kimotho from Fairfax, Virginia finished the top three honors with scores of 77 and 77 for a weekend total of 154.

Jackson Obie from Williamsburg, Virginia was the first-place finisher this weekend. Obie brought in scores of 78 and 70 for a combined total of 148 for the weekend. Vincent Diglio from Lovettsville, Virginia was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 78 and 76 for a combined total of 154. Declan Gustavson from Purcellville, Virginia and Nathan Smith from Chestertown, Maryland finished the top three honors tied for third place. Gustavson and Smith brought in matching scores of 82 and 80 for a combined total of 162 each.

Ben Cowgill from Richmond, Virginia was the first-place finisher for the weekend. Cowgill brought in scores of 80 and 75 for a combined total of 155 for the weekend. Jake Lopes from Vienna, Virginia was the runner-up for this weekend with scores of 78 and 79 for a combined total of 157. Armaan Osterman from Fairfax, Virginia finished the top three honors with scores of 91 and 85 for a weekend total of 176.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
