Kiawah Island Spring Junior Open

From March 27-28 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Ohio Kickoff at Delaware. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division,  Boys Under 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Logan Lutz from Mount Pleasant, SC the first-place finisher this weekend. Lutz brought in scores of 76 and 73 for a combined total of 149 for the weekend.  Mathieu Chouinard from Florida, Jonathan Demers from Drummondville, Canada, and Mitchell Strickland from Ann Arbor, Mi all tied for the runner up for the weekend. Chouinard brought in scores of 76 and 74 for a weekend total of 150. Demers finished with a 78 and 72 for a weekend finish of 150. Strickland brought in scores of 76 and 74 for a weekend total of 150.

Talan Harrison from Kannapolis, NC was the first-place finisher this weekend after a 1 hole playoff. Harrison brought in scores of 76 and 74 for a combined total of 150 for the weekend. Jackson Obi from Williamsburg, VA was the runner up for the weekend with consistent scores of 75 for a combined total of 150. Gabe Schmitz from Fort Mill, SC  finished with the top three honors with scores of 76 and 77 for a weekend total of 153.

Conner Freedman from Chapel Hill, NC was the first-place finisher this weekend. Freedman brought in scores of 77 and 75 for a combined total of 152 for the weekend. Gavin Rivas from Atlanta, GA was the runner up for the weekend. Rivas brought in scores of 76 and 84 for a weekend total of 160. Griffin Huckabee from Winston Salem, NC and Frank Lockwood from Charleston, SC finished tied for the top three honors. Huckabee finished with scores of 79 and 83 for a weekend total of 162.  Lockwood finished with consistent scores of 81 shooting a 162 on the weekend.

Natalie Papa from Frankfort, IL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Papa brought in scores of 80 and 82 for a combined total of 162 for the weekend. Sage Parsetich from Greenwood, IL and Grace Young from Highlands Ranch, CO tied for the runner up honors. Parsetich finished with scores of 78 and 86 for a weekend score of 164. Young brought in scores of 81 and 83 for a weekend total of 164.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
