Kiawah Island Spring Junior Open

From Saturday, May 18 – Sunday, May 19, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Kiawah Island Spring Junior Open at Kiawah Island Resort in Kiawah Island, SC. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, WillSmith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.

Andrew Propes of Charleston, SC took home first place in a competitive Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division. Andrew shot a 73 in both rounds giving him a weekend total of 146. Following closely behind Andrew Swanson and Oliver Rotermund tied for second finishing the weekend at 149. After a 79 in the first round, Oliver finished the weekend strong with a 70 in round two tying for second with Andrew.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Kiawah Island Spring Junior Open

Aiden O’Hagan from Albany, Bahamas finished first in a competitive division shooting74 in both round one and two. Rounding out the top three, Peter Nusbaum fished the event in second place with a 73-77 first and second round score. Taking third place was Jeromy Voigt with a weekend total of 152.

Ernie Els 11-13

Kiawah Island Spring Junior Open

Trey Marrion of Chesapeake, VA took a commanding lead in round one finishing with a score of71. He closed out his first place finish with a weekend total of 141. Tyler Taber finished in second place after scoring 77-73 in rounds one and two. Rounding out the top three with a strong third place finish, Daniel Donato finished the weekend at 154 for the event.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Kiawah Island Spring Junior Open

Anne Fernandez of Albany, Bahamas took home a first place finish with her impressive two-day total of 147. Sophie Anand also from Albany, Bahamas finished second scoring 77-73 in rounds one and two for a total event score of 150.

Kiawah Island Spring Junior Open

Ella June Hannant of Pikeville, NC finished the first round at Kiawah Island tied for first place at 79. Ella broke away in round two after shooting a 78 bringing her two-day total to 157. Camryn Coffield completed the weekend with a two-round score of 162 which earned her second place. Taking home third place, Karsyn Roberts scored 169 on the event.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
