From Saturday, June 22nd through Sunday June 23rd, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Joe Dumphy Memorial Jr. Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18 and Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.
Boys 16-18

Cole Bergman of Atlanta, GA and Riley Grant of Rock Spring, GA were tied for first place over the weekend with 145weekend totals. Both players shot impressive rounds of 69 and 70 respectively on Sunday. Bergman was able to seal his victory after the first playoff hole against Grant. And rounding up the top-three was Thomas Siplon of Cumming, GA with a weekend total of 150 strokes.
Boys 14-15

Owen Baginski of Alpharetta, GA led the Will Smith Division with a 153 two-round total to take the lead with a first-round 80 and remain in contention the rest of the weekend. Baginski closed out his weekend with a 73 on Sunday to win. Following his lead, Nicklaus Cook of Enterprise, AL and Jeb McDonald of Cartersville, GA both finished with157 two-round totals to tie for runner-up honors.
Boys 11-13

Ethan Coffield of Hamilton, GA led the division with a weekend total of 154 strokes. Coffield shot rounds of 78-76 to claim victory honors and a weekend total of 10 over. Following him was Josh Durthaler of Dunwoody, GA with a weekend total of 177 strokes to claim solo runner-up honors on Sunday. And finishing up the top-three was Steven Lewis of Atlanta, GA with a total of 180 strokes for the weekend.
Girls 14-18

Kennedy Arnette of Cumming, GA shot an81 the first day to lead the division all weekend. Arnette was able to seal the victory with a final-round of 75 and birdies on holes 11 and 17. Following her were Sanika Kulkarni of Alpharetta, GA and Georgia Stonecypher of Dacula, GA with weekend totals of 160 to tie for runner-up honors.
Girls U13

Camryn Coffield of Hamilton, GA shot a weekend total of 159 shots to claim victory. Coffield shot rounds of 79-80 for the weekend. Following her was Alisa Pressley of Flowery Branch, GA with a 182total to claim solo runner-up honors.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
