Jekyll Island Junior Open

From April 3-4 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Jekyll Island Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.  

Boys 16-18

Jekyll Island Junior Open

Ronnie Cao from Yunnan, China was the first place finisher for the weekend. Cao finished with scores of 75 and 69 for a weekend total of 144. Conner Heyboer from Charleston, SC, Charles Kyle from Atlanta, GA, and Charlie Miller from Savannah, GA all tied for the runner honors. Heyboer brought in scores of 77 and 79 for a total of 156. Kyle finished with scores of 77 and 79 for a weekend total of 156. Miller finished the weekend with scores of 79 and 77 for a total of 156.

Cole Shingleton from Moseley, VA was the first place finisher for the weekend. Shingleton finished with consistent scores of 78 for a weekend total of 156. William Marshall from Madison, MS and Tyler Taber from Mt. Pleasant, SC tied for the runner up honors for the weekend. Both Marshall and Taber brought in scores of 80 and 77 for a weekend total of 157.

Ethan Weinberg from Marlboro, NJ was the first place finisher for the weekend. Weinberg brought in scores of 75 and 71 for a weekend total of 156. Jackson Harris from Powell, OH was the runner up for the weekend. Harris finished with scores of 70 and 77 for a weekend total of 147. Austin Baker from Moultrie, GA and Joseph Morinelli from Crozet, VA tied for the top three honors. Baker finished with scores of 79 and 78 for a weekend total of 157. Morinelli finished with scores of 83 and 74 for a weekend total of 157.

Victoria Tan from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was the first place finisher for the weekend. Tan brought in scores of 71 and 77 for a weekend total of 148. Kate Joyner from Lakeland, FL was the runner up for the weekend. Joyner finished with scores of 80 and 69 for a weekend total of 149. Morgan Guepet from Metairie, LA rounded out the top three honors with scores of 77 and 76 for a weekend total of 153.

Kaitlin Ojendyk from Newcastle, WA was the first place finisher for the weekend. Ojendyk finished with scores of 86 and 81 for a weekend total of 167. Kathryn DeLoach from Athens, GA was the runner up on the weekend. DeLoach finished with scores of 84 and 85 for a weekend total of 169. Hazel Peters from Paia, HI rounded out the top three honors for the weekend. Peters brought in scores of 92 and 91 for a weekend total of 183.

Crosby Revell from Midland, GA was the first place finisher for the weekend. Revell brought in scores of 85 and 81 for a weekend total of 166. Aiden Cooper from Knoxville, TN was the runner up for the weekend. Cooper finished with scores of 95 and 81 for a weekend finish of 176. Richard McMullen from Sewickley, PA rounded out the top three honors. McMullen finished with scores of 88 and 90 for a weekend total of 178.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
