On Saturday November 10 – Sunday November 11, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Innisbrook Junior Open in Palm Harbor, FL. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.
Tiger Woods Boys 16-18
Jack Tegan captured the first-place finish at the Innisbrook Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 143 (70-73). With solid play both days, Tegan was able to hold off Shuang Liu by 2 strokes as he finished with a total of 145. Rounding out the division was Robert Bender and Ethan Emerson who finished tied for 3rd place with a two-day total of 147.
Will Smith Boys 14-15
In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division, Armand Loscalzo scored a two-day total of 148 for a first-place victory. Solid play in the second round allowed Loscalzo to hold his winning spot over Jon Wang who played solid rounds of (79-76) to finish with a total of 155. Rounding out the division in 3rd place was Carlos Gabriel Nieves who finished with a two-day total of 156.
Ernie Els 11-13
Tommy Tyler did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 78-76 to win in his division over Juleon Habib who carded rounds of 77-81 to claim 2nd place. Behind Habib was Gavin Girard who shot a 2-day total of 159 (81-78) to take a solo 3rd place finish.
Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18
Svarnika Bommakanti ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 172 (89-83). With consistent rounds, Bommakanti was able to hold off 2nd place finishers Jacquelyn Stiles and Mckenzie Kane by 1 shot in a playoff.
Justin Rose Girls U13
In the Justin Rose Girls U13 division, Chloe Chang took home a solo first-place victory with a two-day total of 162. Taking second place was Lily Zhang who had a two-day total of 172 (90-82). Rounding out the division in third place is Elyse Meerdink who finished with a two-total of 189.
