Indianapolis Junior Open

On Saturday September 1 – Sunday September 2, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Indianapolis Junior Open at The Legends Golf Club in Franklin, IN. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division U10, Justin Rose Division Girls U13 and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Indianapolis Junior Open

Kody Reynolds of Columbus, IN captured the first-place finish at the Indianapolis Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 153 (78-75). With solid play both days, Reynolds was able to hold off Rees Conder of Kansas City, MO by 8 shots. Dalton Robertson from Louisville, KY rounded out the division with the 3rd place finish shooting a 2-day total of 164 (79-85).

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Indianapolis Junior Open

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division Weston Ogden of Indianapolis took home first place this weekend in shooting a 2-day total of 163. Solid play in the second round allowed Ogden to take victory over Blake Stamper who finished second with a 2-day total of 174. Rounding out the division was Isaac Embry of Crown Point, IN who finished 8 shots behind Stamper to claim a 3rd place finish.

Ernie Els 11-13

Indianapolis Junior Open

Wade Schacht, Champaign did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 76-76 to win in his division over Jack Besner of Whiteland, IN who carded rounds of 74-83 to claim 2nd place. Behind Besner was Brody Sorrell of Evansville who shot a 2-day total of 192 (90-102) to take a solo 3rd place finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Indianapolis Junior Open

Hayley Dye ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 156 (78-78). With consistent rounds, Dye was able to hold off Lucy Bloomstran of Saint Louis, MO by 4 shots and claiming 2nd place. Rounding out the division was Ellie Sonne of Maineville, OH who shot a 2-day total of 163 to claim a 3rd place finish.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Indianapolis Junior Open

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 division Mia Hammond of Crooksville, OH took home the victory with firing a 2-day total of156.  Michaela Headlee followed behind with shooting a 2-day total of 159 to take a solo 2nd finish. Rounding out the division was Angelina Gong(173) and Abigail Rich(173) tying for third place.

Boys 10 Under

Indianapolis Junior Open

In the Bryson Dechambeau Boys U10 division, Luc Kelty of Louisville, KY took home the victory by firing a 2-day total of 164. Jacob Holzer followed behind with shooting a 2-day total of 165 to take a solo 2nd finish. Rounding out the division was Brycen Tisch (166) and Macualay Myers (166) tying for third place.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
