IMG Country Club Junior Open

From April 30th to May 1st, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the IMG Country Club Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

IMG Country Club Junior Open

Itai Cohen from Bradenton, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Cohen brought in scores of 36 and 69 for a combined total of 105 for the weekend. Bjarni Thor Ludviksson from Reykjavik, Iceland was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 36 and 73 for a combined total of 109. Timothy Williamson from Bradenton, FL finished with top three honors with scores of 39 and 71 for a weekend total of 110.

IMG Country Club Junior Open

Xin (Tommy) Wang from Bradenton, China was the first-place finisher after beating Eddie Gu in a playoff match. Wand brought in scores of 35 and 75 for a weekend total of 110. Eddie Gu from Aurora, Canada was the runner-up after the playoff match with scores of 35 and 75 for a weekend total of 110. Xavier Sahajpal from Ocala, FL finished with top three honors with scores of 40 and 75 for a weekend total of 115.

Darren Zhou from Hong Kong, Hong Kong was the first-place finisher this weekend. Zhou brought in scores of 34 and 74 for a combined total of 108 for the weekend. Harrison Zhang from Markham, Canada was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 39 and 76 for a combined total of 115. Lincoln Kilpatrick from Rome, GA, and Owen Sahajpal from Ocala, FL finished with top three honors with scores of 40 and 76, and 39 and 77, respectively for a weekend total of 116 each.

Yui Iijima from Tokyo, Japan was the first-place finisher this weekend. Iijima brought in scores of 37 and 73 for a combined total of 110 for the weekend. Yoomin Archer from Bradenton, FL and Meera Minhas from Burnaby, Canada tied for runner-up this weekend with scores of 38 and 75, and 38 and 75, respectively, for a combined total of 113 each.

Grace Carter from Jupiter, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Carter brought in scores of 36 and 71 for a combined total of 107 for the weekend. Jade McFarland from Bradenton, FL finished with top three honors with scores of 50 and 98 for a weekend total of 148.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
