Illinois Junior Open

From July 10-11, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Illinois Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division,  Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Illinois Junior Open

Michael Addie from Sussex, WI was the first-place finisher this weekend. Addie brought in scores of 71 and 77 for a combined total of 148 (+4) for the weekend. Dylan Josephson from Vernon Hills, IL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 76 and 73 for a combined total of 149 (+5). Brothers Charlie Colegrove and Will Colegrove from Glencoe, IL tied for third place. Charlie brought in round scores of 75 and 76 for a combined 151 (+7), while Will tallied scores of 77 and 74 for a combined 151 (+7).

Boys 14-15

Illinois Junior Open

Alex Weiss from Middleton, WI was the first-place finisher this weekend. Weiss brought in scores of 78 and 71 for a combined total of 149 (+5) for the weekend. Zazael Arlan Atendido from Bensenville, IL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 77 and 74 for a combined total of 151 (+7). Matt Sims from Naperville, IL finished the top three honors with scores of 84 and 81 for a weekend total of 165 (+21).

Kaden Puranik from Chesterton, IN was the first-place finisher this weekend. Puranik brought in scores of 76 and 79 for a combined total of 155 (+11) for the weekend. Michael Hahn from Lake Forest, IL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 83 and 83 for a combined total of 166 (+22). Milo Porter from Evanston, IL finished the top three honors with scores of 199 and 152 for a weekend total of 351 (+207).

Kendall Farm from Carol Stream, IL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Farm brought in scores of 76 and 78 for a combined total of 154 (+10) for the weekend. Valentina Gozo from Crown Point, IN and Jessica Velent from Buffalo Grove, IL tied for second place. Gozo brought in scores of 87 and 85, while Velent tallied scores of 86 and 86, both for a combined 172 (+28).

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division.
