Huntsville Junior Shootout

On Saturday, November 11 and Sunday November 12, the Hurricane Junior Tour set up shop in Huntsville, AL for the Huntsville Junior Shootout at Hampton Cove Golf Course. The early mornings brought in fairly cold conditions with the temperature averaging around 45 degrees, but as both days progressed, the sun came out and delivered perfect golf weather with the temperature rising to 62 degrees. The HJGT would like to give a huge thanks to the staff at Hampton Cove Golf Course for providing an amazing golf atmosphere for this weekend’s tournament, the players and parents who attended this weekend’s tournament.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Huntsville Junior Shootout

Zachary Bailey of Germantown, TN, is the Boys 16-18 Division champion after finishing Saturday with a 76 and Sunday with a 68 for a total of 144 on the courses 6,594 yd par 72; finishing with a tight race of one stroke under second placeholder’s Zach Womack who shot a 73 and 72 for a total of 145. Collierville, TN native Ethan Ray was the 16-18 third placeholder finishing this weekend with a 79 and a 72 totaling 151. The players competed at the highest level to secure their spots at the top.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Huntsville Junior Shootout

The Boys 14-15 Division competed at the highest level playing a par 72 (6,594 yd) course. Dawson Garrett is the Boys 14-15 champion. Shooting a 76 and a 73 helped secure the crown for the Fort Payne, AL native with a total 149 for the weekend. Teagan Miller (83-72) representing Huntsville, AL finished this weekend’s tournament with a total of 157. Rounding the out the top three, Ryley Heath, the Decatur, AL native shot a 76 on Saturday followed by an 82 on the final day to secure his third place out of a group of young and talented golfer’s.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Huntsville Junior Shootout

Our Girls 14-18 Champion is Sarah Utley of Hampton Cove, AL. Utley posted a two-day score of 155(77-78). In second place we have Savannah Johnson. The Hampton Cove native shot an 82 on Saturday and 81 on Sunday which placed her squarely into 2nd place. Rounding out the division, we have Aubrie Cagle in 3rd place. Cagle posted a two-day score of 172(86-86). The ladies enjoyed their experience, which produced a great competition down the stretch.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Huntsville Junior Shootout

Jinger Heath of Decatur, AL is the girls U13 Champion. Heath produced an impressive 83 on Saturday and a 78 on Sunday which gave her the first place trophy. In second place we have Bella Warwick. Warwick shot a two-day total of 193(95-98). Rounding out the division we have Elle Webber in third place. Webber posted a score of 104 on Saturday and 95 on Sunday.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
