From Saturday, March 9 – Sunday, March 10, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Huntsville Junior Open at Canebrake Club in Athens, AL. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.
Boys 16-18

Leading off the Tiger Woods Division this past weekend was Jonathan Tark of Montgomery, AL with 149 strokes. Aydin Norman of Rising Fawn, GA earned the second-place spot with 163 strokes. Rounding out the division was Trey Rouse of Homewood, AL with 165 strokes.
Boys 14-15

Aidan Collier of Greeneville, TN was on fire this weekend in the Will Smith Division, as he finished in first place with 152 strokes. Iain Griggs of Madison, AL was the second-place winner, with 180 strokes. Rounding out the podium was Robert Sproule of Birmingham, AL with 183 strokes.
Boys 11-13

Nolen Wolfe of Athens, AL earned the gold trophy this weekend, with 159 strokes. Ethan Coffield of Hamilton, GA and Thomas Lambert of Birmingham, AL rounded out the division with 164 and 169 strokes respectively.
Girls 14-18

Grace Engel of Huntsville, AL did not disappoint in the Will Smith Division as she finished with 178 strokes. Aubrie Cagle of Meridianville, AL earned the second-place spot with 184 strokes. Kaitlyn Shields of Chelsea, AL was the third-place finisher this weekend, as she finished with 188 strokes.
Girls U13

Camryn Coffield of Hamilton, GA was on her game this weekend, as she finished with a two-day total of 163 strokes. It was a tight race for second-place, but Paige Giovenco of Sellersburg, IN earned second with 183 strokes. Carmen Britt of Hoover, AL finished out the division just one stroke behind Giovenco.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
