HJGT/PJT Junior Championship

On Saturday November 3 – Sunday November 4, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the HJGT/PJT Junior Championship in Galloway, NJ. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson Dechambeau Division Boys U10, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

HJGT/PJT Junior Championship

Stephen Lorenzo captured the first-place finish at the HJGT/PJT Junior Championship in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 150 (79-71). With solid play both days, Lorenzo was able to hold off Andrew Miller and Michael Mitnick, who both finished with a 2-day total of 153 to finish tied for second place.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

HJGT/PJT Junior Championship

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division, Jack Ross shot a two-day total of 155 to finish with the first-place trophy. Solid play in the second round allowed Ross to hold his winning spot over Alexander Reyes who scored 159 over the two-day event.  Rounding out the division is Win Thomas, who finished with a two-day total of 160.

Ernie Els 11-13

HJGT/PJT Junior Championship

Hunter Po did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 77-82 to win in his division over Emil Riegger who carded rounds of (78-84) 162 to claim 2nd place. Behind Riegger was Maximus Liu who shot a 2-day total of 165 (81-84) to take a solo 3rd place finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

HJGT/PJT Junior Championship

Esther Park ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 148 (76-72). With consistent rounds, Park was able to hold off 2nd Place Finisher Caraline Oakley by 5 shots. Rounding out the division was Ashley Liu, Julia McLaughlin, and Hartley Zook who each shot a 2-day total of 166 to finish tied for 3rd place.

Justin Rose Girls U13

HJGT/PJT Junior Championship

Sawyer Brockstedt won first place in the Justin Rose girls U13 division with a total of 163. With consistent rounds, Brockstedt was able to hold off 2nd Place finisher Kennedy Swedick by 3 shots. Rounding out the division was Hannah Rabb who shot a 2-day total of 177 to finish in 3rd place.

Boys 10 Under

HJGT/PJT Junior Championship

Mihir Roperia won first place in the Bryson Dechambeau boys U10 division with a total of 146. Roperia was able to hold off Colby Baran who finished with a two-day total of 176. Rounding out the division was Nicky Jadav who scored a two-day total of 190.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
