On Saturday August 25 – Sunday August26, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Hartford Junior Open #2 at Wintonbury Hills Golf Course in Bloomington, CT. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15,Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Rose Division Girls U13 and the JustinTimberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Hartford Junior Open #2

Christian Emmerich of Swampscottcaptured the first-place finish at the Hartford Junior Open #2 in the Tiger WoodsBoys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 146 (73-73). With solid play both days, Emmerich was able to hold off Yuvraj Joshi of Washington, DC by 4 shots.Zachary Zawisny from Staten Island, NY rounded out the division with the 3rd place finish shooting a 2-day total of 151 (77-74).

Will Smith Boys 14-15

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15division John Guerrera of Farmington, CT took home first place honors this weekend in shooting a 2-day total of 161. Solid play in the second round allowed Guerrera to take a 1 shot victory over Jake Ivan-Pal who finished solo second with a 2-day total of 162. Rounding out the division was James Farina of Somers, NY who finished 1 shot behind Ivan-Pal to claim a solo 3rd place finish.

Ernie Els 11-13

Hartford Junior Open #2

Elias Kennon from Old Greenwich,CT did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 75-71 to win in his division by 5 strokes over Angad Manaise of Stamford, CT who carded rounds of 76-75 to claim 2nd place. Behind Manaise was Colin Firda of Monroe, CT who shot a 2-day total of 160 (79-81) to take a solo 3rd place finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Alexandra Fox of Ellington ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a 36-hole total of 160 (80-80). With consistent rounds, Fox was able to hold off Madalin Small of Newton by 4 shots and claiming 2nd place honors. Rounding out the division was Lilly Moreau of Wethersfield who shot a2-day total of 165 to claim a solo 3rd place finish.

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 division Eleanor Parkerson of Boston, MA took home the victory with firing a 2-day total of 146. Parkerson closed out the victory with firing a final round 72. Kennedy Swedick followed behind with shooting a 2-day total of 157 to take a solo 2nd finish. Rounding out the division is Sydney Young from New Canaan, CT who finished with a 2-day total of160.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
