On February 23rd, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Grandover Junior. The tournament was made up of a 18-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys Under 10, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.
Boys 16-18

Tyler Sabo from Ashland, OH was the first-place finisher this weekend. Sabo brought in a score of 74 for for the weekend. Kunakorn Kai Wen Tang from Raleigh, NC was the runner up for the weekend with a score of 78. Owen Porter from Bethesda, MD finished the top three honors with a score of 80 for a weekend.
Boys 14-15

Taylor Huehn, from Asheville, NC was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with a score of 77. Hunter Justice from Cornelius, NC was the runner up with a score of 79. Matteo Blanchfield and Robert Gefaell from Mooresville, NC and Winston Salem, NC finished the top three honors with scores of 82.
Boys 11-13

Benjamin Baker from Broadlands, VA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Baker brought in a score of 73 for a weekend. Leon Bui from New York, NY was the second-place finisher with a score of 83 for the weekend.
Girls 14-18

Layla Meric from Wesley Chapel, NC was the top finisher with impressive score of 80 for the weekend. Amanda Ruminski from Lexington, OH took home the runner up title with a score of 82. Braelyn Pippin from Waxhaw, NC rounded out the top three with a score of 85.
Girls U13

Ella June Hannant from Pikeville, NC was the top finisher for the Justin Rose division with a score of 81. Ashnoor Kaur from Roanoke, VA was the runner up for the weekend with score of 82 strokes.
Boys 10 Under

Matthew Pack from Chantilly, VA was the top finisher with a score of 83. Landon O’Hara from Severn, MD took home the runner up title with a score of 86 for the weekend. Brady Barr from Myrtle Beach, SC rounded out the top three with a score of 96.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
