From May 9th  to the 10th the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Black Bear Junior Open The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Boys 10,  Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.

Chase Johnson from Appling, GA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Johnson brought in scores of 76 and 68 for a combined total of 144 stroke for the weekend. Peyton Purvis from Paducah, KY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 75 and 69 for a combined total of 14. Dallas Pettus from Statham, GA and Jeremy Edmunds from Charlotte, NC tied for the top three honors with scores 153 for the weekend.

Jayden Carroll from North Augusta, SC was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 75 and 76 for a combined total of 151 strokes.  Davis Neal from North Augusta, SC was the runner up with scores of  76 and 82 for a 158 weekend total. Clark Sonnenberg from Alburquerque, NM finished the top three honors with scores of 79 and 89 for a weekend total of 168.

Xeve Perez from Evans, GA was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 74 and 78 for a combined total of 152 strokes. Grady Kelley from Augusta, GA and Bear Dollander from Savannah, GA tied this weekend for runner up honors. They both brought in scores of 164.

Gracie Song from Waxhaw, NC was the top finisher with impressive scores of 71 and 74 for 145 weekend finish. Iris Cao from Duluth, GA took home the runner up title with scores of 69 and 77 for a weekend total of 146. Madison Holmes from Paragould, AR  rounded out the top three with scores consistant scores of  75 giving her a combined total of 150 for the weekend.

Georgia Bosart from Greensboro, GA was the top finisher for the Justin Rose division with scores of 84 and 87. Her combined total for the weekend was 171 strokes. Adyson Lukich from Evans, GA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 94 and 91, a combined total of 185 strokes. To round out the top three honors was Emma Brodrick from Grovetown, GA with scores of 104 and 106. Brodrick finished the weekend with a combined score of 210 strokes.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
