From March 7th to March 8th,  the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Fort Lauderdale Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys Under 10,  Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Noah Campbell from Pickering, Canada was the first-place finisher this weekend. Campbell brought in scores of 80 and 73 for a combined total of 153 for the weekend. Sebastian Thrane from Jupiter, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 78 and 76 for a combined total of 154. Amani Dambrosio from Cheswick, PA finished the top three honors with scores of 82 and 73 for a weekend total of 155. Anthony Alexander Garcia from Miami, FL tied for third with scores 79 and 76 for a weekend total of 155.

TJ Thompson, from Coral Springs, FL was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 84 and 79 for a combined total of 163. Corbin Scott from Boca Raton, FL was the runner up with scores of 86 and 80 for a 166. CJ Merritt from Plainview, NY finished the top three honors with scores of 93 and 88 for a weekend total of 181.

Samuel Gilden from Davie, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Gilden brought in scores of 80 and 83 with a combined score of 163. Nicholas Viana from Coral Gables, FL was the second-place finisher with scores of 82 and 87 for a total of 169. To round out the top three was Mason Tome from West Palm Beach, FL. Tome ended the weekend with scores of 88 and 83 for a total of 171.

Jonna Hubbs from Palm Beach Gardens, FL was the top finisher with impressive scores of 79 and 73 for a 152 weekend finish. Agatha Alesson from Weston, FL took home the runner up title with scores of 82 and 76 for a weekend total of 158.  Gabriela Mead from Miami, FL rounded out the top three with scores of 81 and 78 for a combined total of 159. Sarah Beqaj from Palm Beach, FL tied for third with scores of 79 and 80 for a combined total of 159.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
