From August 4-5, the Faldo Hurricane Series held the Northeast Sectional. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.
Boys 16-18

CJ Merritt from Plainview, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Merritt brought in scores of 71 and 74 for a combined total of 145 (+5) for the weekend. Luke O’Grady Rodgers from Patterson, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 71 and 78 for a combined total of 149 (+9). Johnny Solari from Warwick, NY finished the top three honors with scores of 73 and 80 for a weekend total of 153 (+13).
Boys 14-15

Matthew DiFiore from Malverne, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. DiFiore brought in scores of 70 and 70 for a combined total of 140 (E) for the weekend. Joseph Dolezal from Old Westburg, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74 and 71 for a combined total of 145 (+5). Kieran Cummins from Loudonville, NY finished the top three honors with scores of 79 and 70 for a weekend total of 149 (+9).
Boys 11-13

Josh Yan from Newburgh, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Yan brought in scores of 68 and 72 for a combined total of 140 (E) for the weekend. Leon Bui from New York, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 70 and 72 for a combined total of 142 (+2). Michael Asselta from Ramsey, NJ finished the top three honors with scores of 73 and 74 for a weekend total of 147 (+7).
Girls 14-18

Marisa Flores from Paramus, NJ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Flores brought in scores of 75 and 79 for a combined total of 154 (+14) for the weekend. Gina Milazzo from Greenwood Lake, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 78 and 77 for a combined total of 155 (+15). Gwendolyn Yarnall from East Aurora, NY finished the top three honors with scores of 80 and 76 for a weekend total of 156 (+16).
Girls U13

Eleanor Lim from Englewood Cliffs, NJ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Lim brought in scores of 90 and 92 for a combined total of 182 (+42) for the weekend. Christiana Greene from Bedford Hills, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 91 and 93 for a combined total of 184 (+44).
Boys 10 Under

Gus Kumar from Brooklyn, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kumar brought in scores of 90 and 86 for a combined total of 176 (+36) for the weekend. Dylan Whitman from Brewster, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 94 and 88 for a combined total of 182 (+42). About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.
Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division.
