Elite Series at Palmetto Hall

From March 7th to the 8th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Elite Series at Palmetto Hall Golf Course in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format, with a field of two different divisions that include a boys division as well as a girls division

The boys division came down to a 3-man playoff this weekend to decide the winner. Jantai Malataev from Almaty, Kazakhstan won the playoff after posting scores of 76 and 78 for a total of 154 strokes on the weekend. Felipe Ferreira from Atizapan De Zaragoza, Mexico and Tristin Galant from Cape Town, South Africa tied for second place both ended the weekend also with 154 strokes.

Hyojoon Jang from South Korea, Republic of Korea brought home a first place finish this weekend. Hyojoon posted very impressive scores of 70 and 68 for a total of 138 strokes. Ana Maria Jimenez Rios from Mexico was the runner up completing the weekend with scores of 79 and an impressive round 2 score of 69 for a total of 148 strokes. Rounding out the top three honors this weekend was One Kashima from Tochigi, Japan who posted scores of 78 and 74 for a total of 152 strokes to complete the weekend.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
