Eagle Creek Junior Open

From May 8-9, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Spring College Prep Series at UF. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division,  Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Sebastiano Mascia from Valencia, Venezuela was the first place finisher for the weekend, with an rounding out the weekend 16 under par. Mascia brought in scores of 67 and 63 for a weekend finish of 130 (-16). Kiefer Bulau from Aurora, Canada was the runner up for the weekend. Bulau also had impressive scores of 69 and 70 for a weekend total of 139 (-7). Rounding out the top three honros was Ben Walker from Winter Park, FL. Walker brought in scores of 73 and 68 for a weekend total of 141 (-5).

Ryan Chang from Lexington, MA was the first place finisher for the weekend. Chang brought in scores of 73 and 70 for a weekend total of 143. Matthew Javier from Toronto, Canada was the runner up for the weekend. Javier brought in scores of  71 and 75 for a weekend total of 146. Javier Santolaya from Florida rounded out the top three honors for the weekend. Santolaya finished with consistent scores of 74 for a  148 weekend total.

Nicklaus Downing from Windermere, FL was the first place finisher for the weekend. Downing brought in scores of 68 and 73 for a weekend total of 141. Konner Kubica from Lutz, FL was the runner up for the weekend. Kubica finished with scores of 71 and 76 for a weekend total fo 147.  Evan Pena from Orlando, FL rounded out the top three honors for the weekend. Pena brought in scores of 75 and 73 for a weekend total of 148.

Sophie Anand from Windermere, FL was the first place finisher for the weekend. Anand brought in scores of 71 and 72 for a weekend total fo 143. Morgan Beaulieu from Kissimmee, FL, McKenna Murphy from Longwood, FL, and Grace Suter from Oconomowoc, WI all tied for the runner up honors. Beaulieu, Murphy, and Suter all brought in weekend scores of 147.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
