From August 10th and 11th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Doral Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys 10 and Under, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18 and Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Doral Junior Open

Alejandro Ramos from Lima, Peru took home the victory after scoring an outstanding 80 and 69 for a combined 149. Ramos completed the weekend with 8 birdies and an eagle. Jamozzy Skenandore took home the runner up title with a weekend score of 159. Skenandore brought in scores of 77 and 82 over the two-day event. Juan Pablo Oliva rounded out top three with scores of 79 and 82 a combined total of 160.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Doral Junior Open

Zephyr Zhong from Guangzhou, China was able to seal his victory ending the weekend with scores of 78 and 75 a combined total of 153. Mathew Marcelino from Plantation, FL and Rafe Cochran from Palm Beach, FL tied for the runner up title. Both Marcelino and Cochran scored a 156 for the weekend.

Ernie Els 11-13

Doral Junior Open

Smith Summerlin from Raleigh, NC took home the first-place honors with scores of 81 and 82 for a combined total of 163. Sam Mclean from Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 98 and 90 for a weekend total of 188. Rounding out the top three was Samuel Gliden with scores of 112 and 99 for a total of 211.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Doral Junior Open

Holly McLean from Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands was the top finisher with scores of 80 and 79 for a combined total of 159. Krysten Shawah from Boca Raton, FL took home the runner up title with scores of 74 and 87 for a weekend total of 161. To round out our top three was Rachel Hicks from Grapevine, TX. Hicks shot a 164 a combined total of 84 and 80 over the two days.

Skye Two Hawks, Skenandore from De Pere, WI took home the first-place honors with a total of 165 over the past two days. Skye Two Hawks brought in scores of 84 and 81. Runner up, Angela Jiang scored a 201 for the weekend. Jiang brought in scores of 103 and 98.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
