Disney Summer Junior Open

From July 24-25, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Disney Summer Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division,  Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Disney Summer Junior Open

BK Kim from Windermere, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kim brought in scores of 72 and 73 for a combined total of 145 (+1) for the weekend. Masen McKain from New Smyrna Beach, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 76 and 70 for a combined total of 146 (+2). Rodrigo Carranza from Trujillo, Peru finished the top three honors with scores of 69 and 79 for a weekend total of 148 (+4).

Davis Downing from Windermere, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Downing brought in scores of 77 and 74 for a combined total of 151 (+7) for the weekend. Grant Goslin from Tampa, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 76 and 78 for a combined total of 154 (+10). Jacob Immelman from Winter Park, FL and Darrell Santiago from Cidra, Puerto Rico tied for third place with a score of 155 (+11). Immelman brought in round scores of 78 and 77, while Santiago tallied scores of 73 and 82.

Nicklaus Downing from Windermere, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Downing brought in scores of 71 and 72 for a combined total of 143 (-1) for the weekend. Santiago Navarro from Caracas, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 78 and 68 for a combined total of 146 (+2). Joseph Bueme Jr. finished the top three honors with scores of 76 and 71 for a weekend total of 147 (+3).

Andrea Diaz Diaz from Municipio Emiliano Zapata, Mexico was the first-place finisher this weekend. Diaz Diaz brought in scores of 75 and 72 for a combined total of 147 (+3) for the weekend. Valeria Lizcano from Bogota, Colombia was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74 and 77 for a combined total of 151 (+7). Sofia Martinez from Cali, Colombia finished the top three honors with scores of 76 and 76 for a weekend total of 152 (+8).

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
