Disney Spring Break Junior Open

From March 12th-13th, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Disney Spring Break Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Eric Zhao from Toronto, Canada was the first-place finisher this weekend. Zhao brought in scores of 71 and 69 for a combined total of 140 for the weekend. Chase Pochylko from Saskatoon, Canada was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 70 and 73 for a combined total of 143. Eduardo Arango from Panama City, Panama finished top three honors with scores of 74 and 72 for a weekend total of 146.

Jiacheng Xu from Winter Garden, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Xu brought in scores of 75 and 73 for a combined total of 148 for the weekend. Yaqi Miao from Shanghai, China was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 79 and 78 for a combined total of 157. William Huang from Howey in the Hills, FL finished top three honors with scores of 83 and 75 for a weekend total of 158.

Shayaan Kim from Rockledge, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kim brought in scores of 75 and 73 for a combined total of 148 for the weekend. Darren Zhou from Hong Kong, Hong Kong was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 75 and 75 for a combined total of 150. Shane Frasure from Clermont, FL finished top three honors with scores of 80 and 75 for a weekend total of 155.

Honorine Nobuta Ferry from West Palm Beach, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Ferry brought in scores of 72 and 36 for a weekend total of 108. Sophia Hong from Windermere, FL was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 74 and 39 for a combined total of 113. Ella Kozak from Yorkton, Canada, Youyang Li from Winter Garden, FL, and Emily McKee from Oakville, Canada tied for top three honors with scores of 79 and 35, 77 and 37, and 77 and 37, respectively, for a weekend total of 114 each.

Alexandra Snyder from Orlando, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Snyder brought in scores of 78 and 80 for a weekend total of 158. Arabella Lopez from Ridgefield, CT finished top three honors with scores of 86 and 90 for a weekend total of 176.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
