Disney Junior Open

From February 4-5, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Disney Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Disney Junior Open

Jake Birdwell from Blaine, MN was the first-place finisher this weekend. Birdwell brought in scores of 70 and 72 for a combined total of 142 for the weekend. Lucas Smith from Hamilton, Canada was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 73 and 71 for a combined total of 144. Kai Carlson from Pittsburgh, PA finished the top three honors with scores of 72 and 73 for a weekend total of 145.

Taeyoung Lim from Suwon, Republic of Korea was the first-place finisher this weekend. Lim brought in scores of 76 and 70 for a combined total of 146 for the weekend. Seunghwa Baek from Cheonan-si, Republic of Korea was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 77 and 75 for a combined total of 152. Santiago Navarro from Winter Garden, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 77 and 75 for a weekend total of 152.

Jose Carlos Lopez Lay from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico was the first-place finisher this weekend. Lopez Lay brought in scores of 74 and 76 for a combined total of 150 for the weekend. Anthony Primo IV from Marlton, NJ was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 77 and 78 for a combined total of 155. Jayden Jae from Bradenton, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 90 and 73 for a weekend total of 163.

Yeon-Seo Kim from Seoul, Repunlic of Korea was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kim brought in scores of 75 and 68 for a combined total of 143 for the weekend. Honorine Nobuta Ferry from West Palm Beach, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 73 and 77 for a combined total of 150. SuJeong Her from Seoul, Republic of Korea finished the top three honors with scores of 81 and 70 for a weekend total of 151.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
