On Saturday, July 28 – Sunday, July 29, 2018, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Disney Junior Open in Orlando, Florida. The two-day, thirty-six-hole course held at Disney’s World Resort – Magnolia consisted of players from all six of our divisions including the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division, Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division, Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division, Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division, and the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division.
Boys 16-18

Puebla’s Jose Antonio Haces captured the title in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division as he totaled -9 through the thirty-six holes. He led his playing field with the most birdies (10) and the lowest scoring average (67.5). Second-place finisher Morgan Tournemire of Delray Beach, Florida completed the two-day tournament at -5. Third-place finisher Pablito Saenz Avila of Bogota, Colombia made 144 strokes to finish E.
Boys 14-15

It was a fight to the finish in the Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division between Brian Park and Alex Song, both of Ocoee, as they each finished +1 through the thirty-six. Brian came out on top in the playoff, resulting in Alex’s second-place finish. Brian led his playing field with the most birdies (7) and tied Alex for the lowest scoring average (72.5). Andrew Ha, also of Ocoee, finished third after making 147 strokes to finish +3.
Boys 11-13

Jiacheng Xu of Winter Garden pulled off the victory in the Ernie Els Boys 11-13 division’s playoff against now second-place finisher Gavin Girard of East Setauket, New York after they both finished the thirty-six holes at +2. Gavin led his playing field with the most birdies (9) and the longest birdie or better streak (3), while Jiacheng tied for the lowest Par-3 average (31.1). Sam Brown of Boca Raton placed third after making just one more stroke than the Top-2 finishers to finish at +3.
Girls 14-18

In the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division, it was Valentina Zuleta of Bogota, Colombia that claimed the title following her +5 finish. She led her playing field with the lowest Par-3 average (2.9) and the lowest scoring average (74.5). Second-place finisher was Renata Jancsik of Ponte Vedra whose 153 strokes resulted in a +9 finish through the thirty-six holes. Briana Gabe of Melbourne, Florida placed third after making 154 strokes to end the weekend at +10.
Girls U13

Victoria Renzi of Buenos Aires won the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division after completing the tournament at +7. She led her playing field with the most birdies (7) and the lowest scoring average (75.5). Ella Peiwen Han of Suzhou made 153 strokes to finish at +9, claiming the second-place spot. Third-place finisher was Teng Teng Hun of Macau whose 163 strokes resulted in a +19 finish on the weekend.
Boys 10 Under

Ethan Hoffmann of San Diego walked away the champion in the Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division after totaling +5. He led his playing field with the most birdies (6), the lowest Par-3 average (3.1), the longest birdie or better streak (3), and the lowest scoring average (74.5). Viera’s Jeremiah Smith placed second following his 179 strokes through the thirty-six holes to put him at +35. Third-place finisher was Nicolas Viroleau of St. Denis who made 180 strokes for a +36 finish.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
