From February 20-21, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Desert Junior Open at Gold Canynon. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Divison, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Divison.
Boys 16-18

Bryant Polhill from Edmond, OK was the first-place finisher this weekend. Polhill brought in scores of 68 and 67 for a combined total of 135 for the weekend. Kevin Lydon from Doylestown, PA was the runner up for the weekend. Lydon brought in scores of 74 and 73 for a combined total of 147. Conrad Chisman from Stanwood, WA finished with top three honors with scores of 77 and 72 for a weekend total of 149.
Boys 14-15

Grady Cox from Rio Communities, NM was the first-place finisher this weekend. Cox brought in scores of 84 and 71 for a combined total of 155 for the weekend. Clark Sonnenberg from Albuquerque, NM was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 77 for a combined total of 156. Carver Larson from Alexandria, MN finished for the top three honors. Larson brought in scores of 82 and 85 for a total of 167 for the weekend.
Boys 11-13

Asher Katz from Ridgefield, CT was the first-place finisher this weekend. Katz brought in scores of 78 and 85 for a combined total of 163 for the weekend. Carter Birchard from Seattle, WA and Brennan Wiscombe from Phoenix, AZ tied for the runner up for the weekend. Birchard finished the weekend with scores of 97 and 84 for a total of 181. Wiscombe brought in scores of 89 and 92 for a combined total of 181 for the weekend.
Girls 14-18

Kiser Pannier from Sedalia, MO was the first-place finisher this weekend. Pannier brought in scores of 85 and 84 for a combined total of 169 for the weekend. Cora Larson from Alexandria, MN was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 82 and 91 for a combined total of 173. Shandiin Harper from Farmington, MN finished with the top three honors. Harper brought in scores of 89 and 87 for a weekend total of 176.
Girls U13

Addison Douglass from Paxico, KS was the first-place finisher this weekend. Douglass brought in scores of 86 and 91 for a combined total of 177 for the weekend. Regan Dusenbery from Wichita, KS was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 98 and 79 for a combined total of 177. Lane Birchard from Seattle, WA finished with top three honors with scores of 113 and 136 for a weekend total of 239.
Boys 10 Under

Dominic DeLuca from Chesterfield, MO was the first-place finisher this weekend. DeLuca brought in scores of 117 and 131 for a combined total of 248 for the weekend.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
