On Friday, September 15, 2017, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to Locust, NC to host the Dana Rader Challenge at the beautiful Red Bridge Golf and Country Club. The players battled through a mildly tempered weekend in Locust, but persevered through in-order-to notch this tournament in the books as one to remember! The HJGT would like to thank the amazing staff of the Red Bridge Golf and Country Club for their hospitality and ensuring excellent conditions for the field of play.
Boys 16-18

Tripp Murphy of Roswell, GA is the Boys 16-18 champion. Murphy solidified the victory in his division by carding a 74 on Saturday and a 73 on Sunday for a two-day total of 147. Gavin Nickels of Johnson City, TN and Karsten Shields of Monroe, NC tied for 2nd with a two-day total of 155 (79-76) and (75-80. The players had a great time competing against some of the best junior golfers in the country.
Boys 14-15

Joe O’Callaghan of Waxhaw, NC is the Boys 14-15 champion. After an outstanding 71 on Saturday, O’Callaghan scored an 82 on Sunday to secure the victory finishing with a two-day total of 153. Bryce Wittmer came in 2nd with a two-day total of 157 (79-78). Collin Adams and Dylan Smith tied for 3rd place with a two-day total of 161 (81-80) and (83-78). The boys were very close throughout, which made the competition even more exciting.
Boys 11-13

Drew Coppin of Denver, NC is the champion of the Boys 11-13 division. Coppin posted a round of 81 Saturday and 81 Sunday for a two-day total of 162. Drew enjoyed his time in this tournament, especially with being paired with Boys 14-15.
Girls 14-18

Emily Song is the Girls 14-18 champion. Song of Waxhaw, NC emerged victorious after posting a two-day total of 158 (82-76). Mirabella Calabrase came in 2nd with a total of 184 (97-87). In 3rd was Madison Pasko with a first round score of 125 and 118 on Sunday with a total of 243.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
