On Saturday March 24 and Sunday March 25, 2018, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Dallas Spring Classic at The Tribute Golf Club in The Colony, Texas. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field consisted of golfers from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Boys Under 10, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18 and the Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13. The HJGT would like to thank the staff at The Tribute Golf Club for an amazing course.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Dallas Spring Classic

In the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Benjamin Ligons of McKinney, Texas went home with first place, finishing with a two-day total of 141(69-72). Matthew Lewallen-Le of Waxahachie, Texas came in second place with a two-day total score of 155 (76-79). Tucker Morris of McKinney, Texas finished in third place with a two-day total of 156 (76-80).

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Dallas Spring Classic

Holden Webb of Shreveport, Louisiana finished in first place for the Will Smith Division Boys 14-15. Holden’s two-day total was 152 (75-77). Kyle Nguyenphu of Allen, Texas came in second place with a two-day total score of 155 (75-80). Chris Huban (81-80) of Cohoes, New York and Ian Blome (77-84) of O’Fallon, Missouri tied for third place with a two-day total score of 161.

Ernie Els 11-13

Dallas Spring Classic

In the Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Nathan Bardwell took home the prize finishing with a two-day total of 141 (71-70). Ryan Cowan of Edmond, Oklahoma came in second place with a two-day total of 143 (68-75). Josh Duangmanee of Fairfax, Virginia finished in third place with a two-day total of 148 (71-77). 

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Dallas Spring Classic

In the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, Nitisha Manikandesh of Plano, Texas finished in first place with a two-day total score of 153 (74-79). Ksheera Jalakam (82-77) of Frisco, Texas and Lauren Nguyenphu (78-81) of Allen, Texas tied for second place with a two-day total score of 159.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Dallas Spring Classic

Addison Ko of Plano, Texas came in first place for the Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13. Addison finished with a two-day total of 158 (81-77). Miyoko Tan of Coppell, Texas finished in second place with a two-day total score of 160 (82-78). Natalie Quintana of Allen, Texas came in third place with a two-day total score of 164 (86-78).

Boys 10 Under

Dallas Spring Classic

Jake Castro of Denton, Texas finished in first place for the Boys Under 10 Division with a two-day total score of 156 (75-81). Kirk Grace of Charlotte, North Carolina came in second place with a two-day total score of 160 (78-82).

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
