Dallas Junior Challenge

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to Frisco, TX to host the Dallas Junior Challenge at Frisco Trails on October 28-29. The players battled through wind during round one, then enjoyed some great weather on round two to post some great scores. Every player showed off their skills, and had a blast competing against one another at this great golf course.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Dallas Junior Challenge

TAZ Zorn of McKinney, TX is the boys 16-18 champion. TAZ won his division with an 86 on Saturday and an impressive 79 on Sunday for a two-day total of 165. 2nd place went to Grant Gibbs of Westlake, TX who scored a two-day total of 169 (79-90). Benjamin Ligons of McKinney, TX finished in 3rd with a two-day total of 173 (87-86). These competitors showed off their experience as they seemed to get better as the round went on.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Dallas Junior Challenge

Patrick Yeager of Dallas, TX is the champion of the boys 14-15 division. Patrick showed his composure as he finished with great scores on both days. He posted a first round score of 81 and a second-round score of 75 for a total of 156. Thompson Huthnance came in 2nd after finishing with a two-day total of 160 (79-81). Finishing in 3rd place from Palo Flower Mound, TX was Chase Walts after posting a two-day score of 178 (83-95). All the players really enjoyed playing with each other as they each stayed determined.

Dallas Junior Challenge

Winning the boys 11-13 division from McKinney, TX was Jake Bendetti. Jake ended up scoring a 76 on Saturday and an impressive 80 on Sunday (156). Coming in 2nd place after scoring a two-day total of 173 (82-91) was Braxton Dean from Rockwall, TX. These players showed great focus in competing, and enjoying playing every hole.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Dallas Junior Challenge

Serena Shah of Carrollton, TX is the girls 14-18 champion. Dymphna had an impressive 73 on Saturday and followed it up with an impressive 78 on Sunday (151). Finishing in 2nd from Allen, TX was MaKayla Fisher who posted a two-day total of 165 (84-81). Finishing in 3rd place was Abigail Ligons from McKinney, TX after scoring a two-day total of 175 (90-85). All the players did a great job competing with one another while also learning new skills to their game.

Symran Shah of Carrollton, TX is the girls 13 and under champion. Symran shot a 76 on Saturday and a 75 on Sunday (151). Miyoko Tan of Coppell, TX finished 2nd with a two-day total of 167 (88-79). These players had a lot of fun competing with each other, and all should be proud of their performances.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
